SUN - Guadeloupe
Langley Hotel Fort Royal is located on the breathtaking island of Guadeloupe in the Caribbean. A location spoilt with a never ending summer and a comfortably relaxed lifestyle.
This is our largest resort and you will be working with both locals and people from Scandinavia. You will have lots of opportunities to get active with biking, hiking, tennis, and all kinds of water sports.
The application period for the winter season 2011/2012 begins in August 2011.
Positions at Langley Resort Fort Royal
The receptionist is often the first and last person guests and suppliers meet at the hotel. As a receptionist you handle guest information, booking of activities and contacts with suppliers.
You must have a positive attitude, lots of patience and a natural ability to provide exceptional customer service. You are self motivated, highly organized and you can manage your time well. You must have a valid driver's license and you must speak French.
Our Tour Guides play a key role in fulfilling our guests' expectations. They are with the guests from start to finish and are happy to assist with every request. Tasks include meeting guests at the airport, guide on the transfer bus, host welcome meetings, arrange and book activities and excursions such as climbing, canyoning, hiking, sailing, city tours and lots more.
Suitable candidates are active individuals with lots of travel experience and previous experience from working in the hospitality industry. You are highly sociable and thrive on new experiences. You look at unknown situations as new opportunities and tackle challenges head on. You must be fluent in English and have a valid driver's license to be considered. Language ability in French is a plus as is relevant education as a Tour Guide.
INSTRUCTORS FOR SAILING/BEACH/TENNIS/BIKING
Langley's instructors plan, book and arrange sailing school, tennis lessons, biking excursions and related activities.
To be considered for these positions you must have a passion for sailing, tennis or biking and a strong desire to share your experiences with others. Further, you must have previous experience working as an instructor.
KIDS' CLUB, LANGLEY WAVE BREAKERS
Langley Wave Breakers is our kids' club concept at our summer destinations. We run separate daily programs for 3-6 year olds and 6-12 year olds. Activities include treasure hunts, games and movie nights, face painting and dinners.
Preferred candidates are certified Early Childhood Educators or similar and have a couple of years of work experience from working with children.
The General Assistant/Handyman must be highly flexible, self motivated and enjoy hard work. Tasks vary and may include maintenance work, dish washing, serving, night reception and other duties as assigned. The job may be physically demanding. Driver's License required.
The food is a central part of Langley's concept. We serve food with a local touch, prepared and served with care and finesse. Our half board package includes a generous breakfast buffet and three course dinners. Some hotels also serve á la carte lunch.
To work as a cook with Langley you must have a genuine interest in food and a desire to work abroad. You will work in a team of 2-4 cooks and serve 120 - 220 guests per night. We believe that successful candidates have a formal training from a restaurant/kitchen school and a minimum of two years of work experience.
As a pastry chef you are responsible for the bread and deserts served at the restaurant and food outlets at the resort. In a small team, and with access to the whole range of Caribbean flavors, you will bake bread and create a variety of desserts, such as cakes, mousses, ice cream and sorbet and present it with an elegant tough.
You are full of energy and have a passion for life. You have a natural ability to connect with others, you always have a smile on your face, and you enjoy working in a fast paced environment. Experience from working in a restaurant is preferred but not needed.
You have documented experience from working as a bartender. You are exceptionally outgoing and capable of multitasking. As a bartender with Langley you will have plenty of time to socialize with our guests as our bars are typically quit hotel bars and lounges.
You are a fast worker and able to organize your job on your own. You must thrive in a fast paced environment and enjoy working under pressure. The job is physically demanding and includes heavy lifting.
